RapImmune™
About the Service
RapImmune™ is our main allergy treatment at Allergenix—also called intralymphatic immunotherapy (ILIT for short). It's designed to help your immune system stop overreacting to allergens like pollen, dust mites, or pet dander, giving you long-lasting relief with very little time commitment.
How It Works
We inject a tiny amount of the allergen directly into a lymph node (usually in the groin area) using ultrasound to guide it exactly where it needs to go. This spot helps your immune system learn tolerance faster. Each session is quick—like a regular blood draw in terms of discomfort—followed by a short 30-minute wait to make sure there is no reaction.
Then you're free to go back to your day.
Compared to traditional allergy shots (often 100+ injections over 3-5 years, with weekly visits and waiting time each time) or daily sublingual drops (taken under the tongue for years), RapImmune™ is much simpler: just three visits over two months. It fits busy schedules—no more rearranging life around doctor appointments.
Who It's Best For
This option works well for people who:
Have ongoing allergies to pollen, dust, pets, mold, etc.
Have tried medications or other treatments but want something more effective long-term.
Don't have time for weekly shots or daily drops.
Want a straightforward plan with fewer steps.
We start with a personal consultation to review your symptoms and history, so we can confirm if RapImmune™ is right for you. It's all about finding what actually helps you feel better.
What the Research Shows
This type of immunotherapy has been studied since 2008 beginning with early European trials led by Dr. Gabriela Senti and her team at the University of Zurich. Over the past 15+ years, many studies from Europe and the U.S.—including recent work from leading U.S. institutions like Ohio State University—have shown it can safely and effectively reduce allergy symptoms with benefits that often last several years.
While this approach uses FDA-approved allergen extracts, the injection into the lymph node itself is not yet FDA-approved, but the mounting evidence from these studies supports it as a very reliable option that's gaining traction across the country.
As the first clinic in Iowa to offer this treatment, we're excited to bring a more convenient choice to our community. It's about helping people enjoy life more without the daily allergy battle.
